LAWRENCE, Pa., U.S.A. February 26, 2004 - Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of best of breed technology for the broadband wireless access and television broadcast industries, today announced that it has joined the Global UMTS TDD Alliance as a founding member.
The Global UMTS TDD Alliance (GUSTA) was formed to promote the success and adoption of the UMTS TDD standard around the world. GUSTA is comprised of operators, equipment makers and solution providers, like Axcera, all of which are actively using, producing or considering solutions, products or services using UMTS TDD for broadband wireless access and other new services.

"We believe that the TDD version of the UMTS standard represents the most powerful and flexible architecture for the emerging wireless wide area IP networks. The Alliance is an important resource that will promote advancement, awareness and industry collaboration to ensure that maximum benefit is derived from this superior technology."
