APRIL 13, 2009, LAWRENCE, PA and LAS VEGAS, NV, USA - Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of best-of-breed technology for the television broadcast, mobile media and broadband wireless access industries, today announced demonstrations and educational sessions of the latest leading edge mobile television transmission technologies at the National Association of Broadcasters trade show, April 20th through April 23rd, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
At NAB 2009 Axcera will showcase a live, over the air demonstration of ATSC Mobile DTV, (also known as ATSC M/H (Mobile/Handheld)) the ATSC Candidate Standard for transmission to mobile/handheld devices. Furthering Axcera's leadership position in the mobile media transmission equipment industry by supporting the latest standards with the most current technology, the ATSC Mobile DTV demonstration will allow visitors to Axcera booth C1319 to see this state-of-the-art transmission solution first hand, and to experience this technology by viewing program content on a mobile receiver. The demonstration will encompass a complete, end to end transmission solution, including Axcera's new ATSC M/H Pre-Processor/Multiplexer, its Axciter TM ATSC exciter-modulator for ATSC M/H, along with mobile content encoding and ESG equipment, and consumer receivers. Visitors to Axcera's other booth (C8546D in the ATSC Mobile DTV Pavilion) will also be able to view the ATSC Mobile DTV demonstration on a receiver.
Axcera is also providing several educational opportunities regarding ATSC Mobile DTV. Axcera VP of Product Management, Rich Schwartz, will also be presenting a paper in the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference titled "Integrating ATSC Mobile DTV Into A Broadcast Transmission System; Options And Choices - What You Need To Know" at 10:30 AM on Sunday, April 19, Room S219/220, LVCC. In addition, Axcera will be offering Mobile DTV technology tutorials at its main booth, C1319 at 10:00AM and 2:00PM from Monday April 20 through Wednesday April 22.
