APRIL 13, 2009, LAWRENCE, PA and LAS VEGAS, NV, USA - Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of best-of-breed technology for the television broadcast, mobile media and broadband wireless access industries, today announced that it will display its full line of television transmitters and mobile media base station products in booth number C-1319 at the National Association of Broadcasters trade show, April 20th through April 23rd, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Highlighting its leadership position in the mobile media industry, Axcera will display its end to end transmission solution for ATSC Mobile DTV, (also known as ATSC M/H (Mobile/Handheld)). The system includes Axcera's new ATSC M/H Pre-Processor/Multiplexer, which is designed specifically to combine terrestrial and mobile content into a single transport stream. The Pre-Processor/Multiplexer output feeds an ATSC broadcast transmitter that includes Axcera's industry leading Axciter™ adaptive digital television modulator, the perfect candidate to retrofit existing transmitters, regardless of manufacturer, to be ATSC Mobile DTV capable. Axcera's solution also includes mobile content encoders and ESG equipment. Visitors to Axcera's booth C-1319 will be able to see this state-of-the-art transmission solution first hand, and to experience this technology by viewing program content on a mobile receiver.
Remaining in the forefront of Distributed Transmission System (DTS) technology, Axcera will display Axcera's DTS solution including Axcera's DTxA Distributed Transmission Adapter and the DTS capable AxciterTM digital television modulator, the most advanced exciter available today. Broadcasters are finding DTS the most effective DTV transmission solution, especially when terrain shielding creates gaps in coverage. Axcera remains the only company to commercially deploy DTS, some for over five years.
