Axcera and Christian Television Network Sign $1.9 Million Agreement for High Power Transmitter Systems

Broadcast Network Selects Axcera Visionary™ DT Transmitters
For New Digital Television Facilities

LAWRENCE, Pa. February 15, 2002M - Axcera, a leading manufacturer of high-quality equipment and systems for the television broadcast and broadband wireless access/MMDS industries, today announced it has signed a master purchase agreement with Christian Television Network (CTN) to supply Visionary™ DT television transmitter systems for the Group's digital television (DTV) stations. The agreement totals $1.9 million.

Under the terms of the agreement, Axcera will provide CTN with television transmitter systems for its new DTV stations throughout the southeastern United States. While the agreement covers all Axcera DTV transmitters, CTN will focus primarily on model HP25SDW, 25kW Visionary™ DT inductive output tube (IOT) transmitters.

During the evaluation and selection process, CTN was impressed with Axcera's reputation and responsiveness, but the technology and functionality of the product were also major factors in the decision. "Axcera's transmitters use an advanced exciter system which automatically corrects distortions within the transmitter, as well as those introduced by the RF system and waveguide, which is very important to us," said Chris Mavros, chief engineer for CTN. "In addition, we chose the DTVision™ ; test and monitoring option which will allow us to monitor system performance from the modulator's front panel GUI, minimizing our need for external test equipment."
