Axcera Introduces Depressed Collector Visionary DT Series Transmitters at NAB 2003

Unique Approach to High Efficiency Tube Transmitter Design Offers More Versatility to Broadcasters

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 5, 2003) – Axcera, a leading supplier of high-quality equipment and systems for the television broadcast and broadband wireless access industries, will introduce, at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas, Nevada next week, what the company believes to be the most versatile inductive output tube (IOT) transmitter available.

A longstanding philosophy at Axcera is to allow the customer to choose the technology that is best suited for his or her application. In keeping with this philosophy, Axcera now offers high efficiency MSDC inductive output tubes as an option to the Visionary DT transmitter.

This unique approach allows the customer to choose a standard IOT, a two-, three- or five-collector IOT, air-, water- or oil cooling, digital or analog, all in the same transmitter design. By accommodating tubes from various manufacturers, the Visionary DT ensures that the power amplifier will be supported for the life of the transmitter, even allowing the customer to convert from one technology to another, if so desired.

The addition of high efficiency amplifiers to the Visionary™ DT, with the flexibility to choose the technology and tube vendor, takes it another step beyond other transmitter offerings.
