Axcera To Provide ATSC And DVB-H Transmitter Systems For Second Annual NAB-HD Digital Televesion Station Demo At NAB 2006

APRIL 17, 2006, LAWRENCE, PA, U.S.A. - Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of best-of-breed technology for the television broadcast and broadband wireless access industries, today announced that for the second year in a row it has been selected to provide the transmitter system for the NAB-HD digital television station at the NAB 2006 trade show and exhibition, April 24th through 27th in Las Vegas, NV. Axcera will also provide the mobile media base station that will provide signal coverage for the NAB-HD demonstration area and the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) Central hall.

NAB-HD was originally created to showcase a fully operational digital television station, allowing attendees to follow the digital HD signal from the studio through the transmitter - all right on the exhibit floor. This year NAB-HD will add DVB-H mobile media to its list of advanced content delivery technologies.

The NAB-HD signal, consisting of both live and prerecorded high definition content, will be broadcast within the Central Hall and delivered to the LVCC private cable system for distribution throughout the facility using an Axcera Innovator LX solid-state UHF digital ATSC transmitter.

NAB-HD will also reformat its signal for viewing on "the small screen" - handheld mobile media devices throughout the LVCC. In the Central Hall, the mobile media signal will be broadcast using a 1.67GHz DVB-H Axcera Innovator MV Mobile Media Base Station.

The Innovator MV mobile media base station is an end-to-end broadcast solution for mobile media providers. Both are part of Axcera's full line of low, medium and high power digital and analog transmission systems for frequencies ranging from VHF through 2.7GHz.
