Axcera Appointed Deputy Chair of Personal Broadband Alliance

LAWRENCE, Pa. November 14, 2003 – Axcera, a leading provider of equipment and systems for the broadband wireless access and television broadcast industries, has been assigned to Deputy Chair the Personal Broadband Alliance (PBA) of wireless broadband carriers, software and hardware vendors and infrastructure providers. Axcera’s President and CEO, David Neff, will take on the duties of deputy chairman.

The Wireless Communications Association (WCA) formed this alliance to promote the progression of mobile and portable broadband consumer services around the world. WCA has been a longtime supporter of broadband wireless services, and the PBA offers additional economies of group action to member companies that are already leaders in strategic, technical and regulatory breakthroughs that enable universal “broadband everywhere” services for personal communications.

“We feel that this is an important step in our commitment to further extend the reach of broadband services,” said Neff. “This alliance will encourage innovation and understanding of the value of wireless technology in making broadband everywhere a reality.”
