Axcera Demonstrates DVB-H Mobile Video & Headlines Mobile Video Session at WCA 2005

Leading Provider of End-to-End DVB-H Transmission Systems Brings Mobile Video to Broadband Wireless Industry's Premier International Conference & Exposition

JUNE 29, 2005, LAWRENCE, PA, U.S.A. - Axcera, a leading manufacturer and integrator of best-of-breed technology for the television broadcast and broadband wireless access industries, today announced that it will feature a live DVB-H mobile video demonstration and headline the mobile video session at the Wireless Communications Association (WCA) International Symposium and Business Expo, being held June 28 through July 1 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC.

During the conference, Axcera will provide DVB-H signal coverage throughout the conference hall using an Axcera Innovator LX solid-state low power Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) transmitter. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to view multiple real-time video streams using the latest mobile handsets. In addition to the demonstration, David Neff, Axcera’s president and CEO, and WCA board of directors member, will headline the mobile video session entitled “Mobile TV As Today’s Next Great Opportunity,” providing a snapshot of the mobile video industry today and a look into the future market possibilities.

Since its formal adoption by the DVB Organization in 2004, there has been growing interest in the use of DVB-H technology for the delivery of high quality video and other services to mobile handsets. Unlike many current mobile multimedia offerings that consume valuable bandwidth resources used for voice and two-way data services, DVB-H networks provide a separate path to the handset, truly enabling the “triple play” in a mobile environment.
